Biography
Abettor formed in Larnaca in the late summer of 2013. This quintet’s shared vision has been to push the boundaries of rock by seamlessly blending traditional and non-traditional genres of music to create an idiosyncratic sound.
Composed of guitarist and vocalist, Andreas Matheou; lead vocalist, Manolis Manoli; bass guitarist, Pavlos Papadopoulos; guitarist, Euripides Karaolis; and drummer, Julien Koukkides, Abettor’s identity lies in their unique fusion of dark, heavy riffs infused with melodic, haunting hooks, ambient post-rock and electronica. The band offers listeners a musical rollercoaster with atmospheric melodies and climaxes featuring hints of Progressive, Grunge, Stoner and hypnotising Trip Hop.
Abettor released their first EP, “Time Thief”, in 2016 and launched their debut album, “Rinse & Repeat”, in 2020. The band prides themselves on their original compositions.
